Frequently Asked Question

Some agencies issue a so-called 'AuPair ID-Card'. Is it important for me to get one?

No, the so-called 'Au Pair ID' is in fact largely worthless and merely represents unnecessary baggage that you carry around with you. There are no substantial benefits associated with this ID: You don't receive any discounts and you can't use it to identify yourself anywhere. In many cases, it's simply a piece of paper with little to no practical use.

As a qualified au pair agency, we instead offer you an official certificate confirming that you have worked as an au pair in Germany. This certificate is not only valuable but also important for your future career prospects. It serves as proof of your stay in Germany and clearly and comprehensibly documents the year and purpose of your stay.

This can be particularly important if you need references or proof of your international experience later in your academic or professional career. It shows potential employers that you have gained international experience, improved your language skills, and possess intercultural competencies. These skills are highly sought after in today's globalized job market and will set your resume apart from others.

In any case, it makes much more sense to rely on an official confirmation from our agency that certifies your experience and skills rather than fob you off with an 'au pair card' that has no real value.
